November 17, 1820 Valkyrie, California was founded. Only two hours from Los Angeles, it was a small community, but they had high hopes for the new kids. An old building structure from the seventeenth century was soon the academy. Valkyrie Academy soon got the reputation of sending off some of the brightest kids in the country. Actresses, businesspeople, congresspeople, and great writers. If you wanted a good education...Valkyrie was the place to go. The students were well behaved, and cared about their education.

Oh, how things have changed.

You can now easily associate Valkyrie Academy to the infamous Seven Deadly Sins. You all know them. Lust, Envy, Pride, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, and Greed. Somehow, it fits into every kid’s life, some way, shape, or form.



LUST; inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Lust, how to describe lust? Some kids do not know the difference between what is love, and what is lust. Seducing is some of the student’s middle name. The outgoing type stop at nothing to get who they want- even if that person is currently dating someone. Utility closets are occupied by hormonal teenagers between classes and in the dorm rooms. Hooking-up at parties are common, and done very often, names are dropped the next morning over coffee and bagels of what happened that night. Most kids somehow end of on Valkyrie’s infamous rumor mill where other kids can talk smack about others.




ENVY; desire for others’ traits, status, abilities, or situation.

With a town full of ‘rich kids’ whose neighborhood has been dubbed the Valks, and a town also filled with ‘poor kids’ and their neighborhood is known as the Shaks, there is bound to be a little envy in a town this small. Envy can go both ways. Everyone in the town wishes to be like someone else, something that they are not but want to be. Achieving status at this school is crucial, we do not measure your grade, or your age, but we measure your status, just how popular are you? Striving to be like someone else or having something that that someone else has, can cause you to completely lose yourself in the long run which makes you thing: why? Well, kiddies, that is envy for you.




PRIDE; excessive belief in one’s own abilities.

People filled with pride, just think they are hot shit. There is no faults in the way they think, what they do, and how they act. They make their own rules, and break others. The only right way, is their way. People filled with pride think highly of themselves and know that they are going to be the best. Accomplishments to them are a great achievement and bragging comes second nature. So many people in Valkyrie look down their noses at people that are ‘below’ them.




WRATH; is manifested in the individual spurns fury inside.

So people just have naturally short tempers. In this town, there is always something that fuels the anger within, and that is most likely another person. People here just don’t dislike each other, there is just hate. Grudges are kept deep and there is no such thing as ‘burying the hatchet’ - unless you want to bury it in another’s head. There are some people that you just don’t want to get mad, or on their dark side, because you have no idea where it will lead you.




SLOTH; avoidance of physical work.

Living in a fast-paced down like Valkyrie, you are most likely want to shut it out of your head, even leave perhaps, but those who must stay could jut get down in the dumps, not wanting to anything at all. It’s not just the city either, the academy itself holds pretty high standards to the ‘next president.’ Some kids just can’t handle it, they may leave the prestige school, or just want to quit. Some just completely ‘shut down’ during some of the quarters, and become distant with the other students, friends, and even family. Just avoid sloth, if you can. No one likes to live that low.




GLUTTONY; inordinate desire to consume more than which one requires, self-indulgence.

Who said gluttony had to be just about food? Self-indulgence in one’s self has become quite popular. Lavish and expensive things are a must, especially for the people who thrive for it. They just need more, even if they already have it. A lot of the students (especially the ones who live in the Valks) have been long accustomed to gluttony, since most likely, their parents are the ones who introduced it to them. There is no end to gluttony, because spending and indulgencing on yourself, there is nothing wrong with that, right?




GREED; desire for material or gain.

Now, you may ask, ‘Oh, greed is like envy and gluttony, right?’ Wrong. With envy, you want it, with gluttony you are doing it for the satisfaction. With greed, you just never know when enough is enough. All you want is more...but every time you get more, it’s never enough. You have it, and is satisfied for only a little, before the satisfaction in the matter is no longer with you and are begging for more. The greedy little kids of Valkyrie just need things to stay happy, even if they can find it for a short amount of time.
